Elizabethtown Area Water Authority is seeking candidates for a Water System Operator.  This position is subject to a six-month probationary period. Full-Time Operator– A Water System Operator performs skilled, technical type tasks, necessary for the daily operation and maintenance of the water system. An Operator must be progressing in full water system certification by the PA DEP, and is entrusted with ensuring compliance environmental and public health regulatory compliance.  An Operator reports to the Operations Supervisor, with senior oversight by the Operations Manager. The position requires moderate to heavy physical labor, in cold, hot, wet, indoor & outdoor environments. The selected applicant must possess or be able to obtain a Pennsylvania Driver’s License and will be required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B within 24 months of the date of hire. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to lift 50-pound equipment without assistance. The position requires rotational shiftwork that includes weekends and responding to emergency calls at night, weekends, and holidays.

Desired experience and qualifications for applicants:

•	High school graduate, or General Educational Development certificate.
•	Five years of work experience in water treatment.
•	Current Class B DEP water system certification and possession of Subclassifications 7 (Corrosion Control) and 8 (Chemical Addition).
•	Additional Subclassification certifications will be viewed positively.
